The Washington State Hotel & Lodging Association (WSH&LA)
is pleased to announce the release of the eleventh annual edition of
the Washington
State Visitors’ Guide. Published in partnership with SagaCity
Media, the Visitors’ Guide is an essential promotional vehicle
enticing readers to travel in Washington more often, and to stay longer—and
spend more—while they’re here.
This new edition builds on the striking redesign and engaging editorial
focus introduced in 2009 by SagaCity Media, the award-winning publishers
of Portland Monthly and Seattle Metropolitan. The 2010 Guide features
nine regions of the state with unique stories, travel tips and road
trips. Its stunning photography and entertaining stories will inspire
readers — whether they are third-generation natives or first-timers — to
get out and explore Washington’s natural beauty and cultural
assets.
For the first time since its inaugural edition in 2000, the Visitors’ Guide can
be purchased on newsstands in Washington, Oregon and California,
extending its reach to retail outlets including QFC, Safeway and
Barnes & Noble.
It will also be available for free distribution at over 1,800 locations
frequented by travelers in seven western states; throughout Washington,
Vancouver, BC and other Canadian cities; and on ferries in Washington
and British Columbia. In April, 65,000 affluent and frequent travelers
will receive the Visitors' Guide in the mail with their subscriber
issues of Portland Monthly and Seattle Metropolitan. In all, this distribution
strategy gets the Washington State Visitors’ Guide into the hands
of more than 725,000 travelers who are actively looking for ideas on
where to stay and what to see and do in our beautiful state.
The Visitors’ Guide’s companion
Web site, StayInWashington.com,
extends the power of the printed edition to the Internet. Visitors
to the newly redesigned Web site can view the entire edition in the
digital reader, order their own copy, quickly access the Visitors’ Guide’s wealth
of insider tips, and link to over 1,000 accommodations options. New
features on the Web site include a slide show, Google Map and Travelocity.
