Karem Isaac, M.S., CCC-SLP / Bilingual TSHH
Karem Isaac, M.S., CCC-SLP / Bilingual T.S.H.H. is a pediatric speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience working with children. Karem earned a bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia in 1995 and a degree as a Specialist in Language Development in Children in 1997. She holds a bilingual extension from Marymount College and earned her master's degree in Communication Disorders in 2005 from Hunter College in New York. She is licensed by the State of New York and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Karem has worked in numerous settings, including early intervention home-based therapy, special education preschools and schools, as well as private clinics specializing in pediatrics. As part of her commitment to excellence in therapy, Karem has continued to participate in continuing education coursework in areas such as motor speech disorders, executive functioning, gestalt language learning, sensory integration, play, pediatric feeding and swallowing, cultural diversity and bilingualism, vocabulary, and language development. She has also received training in Sounds in Motion.
She has received extensive training in motor speech disorders, including two levels of Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (P.R.O.M.P.T. Level 1: Introduction and P.R.O.M.P.T. Level 2: Bridging) and the E-Z Apraxia of Speech program. Additionally, she is recognized by Apraxia Kids for her advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Karem has also been trained in the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding (S.O.S.).
Karem has worked in the Mamaroneck and Greenwich school systems and maintains a private practice. She has led professional presentations on various topics in New York City and Long Island. She has been awarded the ASHA Certificate of Excellence on multiple occasions, reflecting her ongoing dedication to professional development and staying current in the field.
